Just another one, for now…

So much for posting one image a week. It’s a new year, and I have a whole crapload of backlog to work through from 2009, and already some for 2010. It’s like the photo above…the cargo ship, coming in from the distance, while the sun is rising. BUT…it’s foggy. Damn. In any case, here are some teasers:
Annnnnnnd….one more that I can’t show anything of, yet.
Happy New Year!

Of the five images that I entered, this was the only one that was selected to be display in the APA Something Personal Exhibition of 2009. I must say I was a little puzzled why this was chosen.

This past Saturday, October 10, was yet another Propville Dog and Pony Bus Tour. This time, Teri and gang set destinations around San Francisco-based production-related businesses. (more after the jump)

Chase Jarvis talks about a cycle of Create=>Share=>Sustain in this talk to the Art Director’s Club of Denver. I’m not going to get into the details of his talk too much, you have the video for that. How it relates to me, however, I feel I create and sustain a fair amount, though I don’t share very much. Why did I seek to become a photographer in the first place? To take cool pictures, sure. But, also to *connect* to others through imagery.
And, why do I have this blog? Sure, Photoshelter would say it’s an SEO machine. Ultimately, it’s an outlet for me to share whatever’s going on creatively, technically, or whatever. A recent criticism from my brother pointed out that he wanted to see more of my work. That was the subtle wakeup call I needed. So, I’m going to start making an effort here by starting small: One image, twice a week. Today I share an image I took when I was out and about in San Francisco a few weeks ago. No story, just a photo of my coffee.

I had a fantastic Saturday at Propville’s Dog and Pony Show @ Sandbox Studios. No, this was not a canine and equestrian show. Rather, this was to discuss video as a technology that is converging with still photography, and to play with some HD video cameras as well as DSLRs that shoot video.

Catchy, huh?
So, I haven’t posted in a while, but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy. If you’ve been following my Facebook or Twitter, you’ve probably seen the updates regarding my test shoots. And now, here’s a download.
Memorial Day weekend, I decide to take out a Hasselblad H3DII-31mp camera just for kicks. I got a free rental from Calumet after demo-ing the camera with Bob Tamura back in April. Instead of just taking the camera out and about, I had the crazy idea for something bigger and badder. So, I call up friends, scour Model Mayhem, book some equipment with Pro Camera, and spec out a few locations. Without further ado, here are some quick teasers/proofs and production shots from the weekend.

A picture is worth a thousand words. So my previous post did a lot of talking.
This time, I’m sorta “yelping” about the places I ate, partied, and hung out at in Costa Rica. If nobody reads this, I’ll just count it as a online journal of what I did in Costa Rica. Just a quick note about the Tamarindo area: nothing has addresses, so everything is marked by the beach it’s near (Tamarindo, Langosta, etc.) or a certain landmark or road (ie. The Circle). Check out this map for a general reference. Just about everything here is touristy, as well. Without further ado, here it is:

Costa Rica was awesome! I was there for my good friends Sean and Claire’s wedding. I pretty much stayed in Tamarindo & Langosta, with quick trips out to Avellanas & Pinilla. I took quite a few photos. But, here a few of my favorites:

My computer is finally rebuilt. Which allows me to get back to the many many images that I have for your consumption. Here are a few I shot the other week when I went snowboarding:
